Ottawa is the capital of Canada. It is situated in the Ottawa Valley. This part of the country lies on the banks of the three rivers namely Ottawa River, Gastineau River and Rideau River. It is densely populated. The main suburban areas include Gloucester, Nepean, Vanier, Rockcliffe Park and Blackburn Hamlet. This single-tier municipality consists of eleven historic townships. The climate there is that of humid continental type. The temperatures lie between 42°C and -38°C. The annual activities include Winterlude festival and the National Canada Day. The conurbation has the highest concentration of scientists, engineers and inhabitants with PhDs. These factors alone are responsible for pulling majority of flights to Ottawa. It organises a number of cultural events and festivals for which people from all around the world take cheap flights to Ottawa just to witness them.
